Girls with Slingshots has some time left, I think she was saying there's a few months of content to go.
I'm honestly not sure why I still read Questionable Content, when I think about it. Almost nothing happens because of the 4-panel format, and he jumps between stories on a level that would put Kurtz to shame. For a comic that he says almost always has a large buffer, it really feels like he's just making shit up as he goes along. Also, his art's gotten so stiff and boring over the last year or two.

Well of course they did. She's a socially awkward, bookish, fragile blossom who is now suddenly dating the main character - who has suddenly and inexplicably morphed from a bumbling, hopeless charity case to savvy, experienced gentleman estrogen bait. He's basically writing the fangirls' mary-sue fanfiction FOR them.
I find the interesting thing about Claire is that her transgender status isn't her defining characteristic. It's mentioned once and doesn't get brought up again. The fact that Marten isn't phased by it makes it an unusual storyline, but a positive one. And while he comes off as smooth by comparison to Claire's complete lack of experience, his previous relationship with Dora was almost Holden-like to her Alyssa: she was more worldly and experienced, he didn't know how he got there.
I always found QC to have a slower pace, occasionally punctuated by robotic shenanigans and Pizza Girl, but otherwise fairly rooted in reality. It might seem like Jeph is trying to juggle a much larger cast than he planned, but I don't think it's that uneven. I'm also not as deeply invested in the relationships as I am in some other comics, so moving through the cast frequently doesn't bother me.

The thing that keeps me reading is to see if there's a "crying game moment" coming in the relationship, or if Martin really can deal with it as easily as he seems to be.
Deleting Shortpacked from my bookmarks was a weird moment today.
Yeah it was a weird transition going from spy-fi super hero dramedy to toy store sitcom that occasionally reminds that it used to be an adventure series. I'm still surprised I ended up loving it!
...And the train has now crashed.

Agreed, love Shortpacked but Roomies had a bigger variety of story arcs and It's Walky was my freaking X-men as a teen.
ON THE TOPIC anyone know where I can read that story where alt universe Head Alien tries one last go at the former agents of Semme? If I have to buy it I'm cool with it.
I discovered It's Walky a couple months before it ended and ate through the whole archives (and Roomies) that weekend with my eyes burning. That was a well-written story that I still remember sharply over 10 years later. Though I read Shortpacked from beginning to end, I wouldn't have gone back through the archives.
That said, Dumbing of Age has been really good. Hard to believe it started four years ago and it's still in the first month of their first semester.

I just started to flat out tell people no, I'm not going to do tech support for you, because it's high time you figured out how to use a fucking computer. Yes, they got mad, but I don't get calls anymore.
On the other hand, I don't expect the millennial generation to ever stopping learning how to use this kind of stuff. Technology is simply to ingrained in our identity.

I have taken an effort to stay on top of technological terms, so as not to annoy my children or grand-children in the future.
