Weird weather

In the mean time, we in the actual civilized world for for human inhabitation, are scared of climate change because we might actually have to face bad weather instead of, you know, just living someplace normal where the planet isn't actively trying to kill you.

the planet isnt trying to kill us, it just seasons us, makes us interesting, all this extreme weather makes strong men and women, ladies and gentlemen, etc etc.

By 7PM last night, ever single school in the county announced they were going to be closed today due to the impending weather. In my childhood I had literally one snow day that was announced the day before that wasn't part of multiple days in a row and that was announced at like 11pm. That storm ended up being the most destructive storm of my life.

We've been getting late starts instead of snow days this year. Mostly because the state of Colorado has apparently decided that the snow will melt once the sun comes out anyways, so why take care of the icy roads when we can fuck people who have to commute in the morning.

As an addendum to this, the morons who like to lol about Texas and California drivers in the snow are probably also the ones who drive like total assholes and cause accidents. I hate other drivers.

Well, I do laugh at Texans driving in ice and snow, but mostly because they think they can go up that hill with a rear-wheel drive pickup and no ballast to keep decent traction.

And things continue to get wild in my neck of the woods - a 5.7 earthquake hit downtown Salt Lake this morning. I'm far enough away that I only felt a small tremor but WOW WHAT A TIME. So far, no serious injuries have been reported - most of the damage has been to buildings. Woof, ya'll, woof.

Buddy of mine lives in Tooelle, which is 16.2 miles away from the epicenter. All he's missing is locusts.

Tornado watch! Woooo.

Fun fact, a tornado hit my neighborhood, this very street, just 4 or 5 houses down, in 2016.

It was nine years ago this past week (the 11th, IIRC) that my soon-to-be hometown experienced a tornado that destroyed all sorts of buildings over by the airport, and basically destroyed the home of a soon-to-be friend of mine.
