EA Needs to F*** off and die

Sim City sold 1.1 million copies in it's first week. Remember what I said about gamers deserving this future? And Riccitiello got 24 months of salary and stock options as his going away gift. I wonder how man months of salary the hundreds of developers he's laid off got in the studios that have been shuttered during his reign?

I kind of hope EA just flat goes under. But I also worry it might be the second great gaming crash, 30 years later.

If we get a crash, it's going to be after the launch of the PS4. It's too far along to abandon it now.

But I don't think we're going to get a crash exactly like the last one. PC's are too entranced, so all we'd see is a mass migration to PC.

Real talk, Mass Effect 3 DLC Citadel may very well be the absolute best piece of anything Mass Effect related. You get a mission that's got more real fun meat to it than anything but possibly Shadow Broker and then you get a hecka fun combat arena simulator full of endorsements, crazy fans and competition as well as an arcade and some real fun moments with your crew (Zaeed losing his shit playing a claw machine, RIP Robin Sachs). The best part of the mission has your entire crew (plus Wrex) all fighting at the same time, everyone trying to one up everyone else. But the mission isn't even the best part of the DLC, the party afterwards and real final crew interaction is. It's good stuff.

If Mass Effect 3 was more of this and less of everything that wasn't Rannoch or Tuchanka, it could have been one of the most memorable ends to a series ever. The villain is like the anti-Kai Leng. They're actually hateable for a good reason and not for being complete shit.

TLDR: Citadel is better than all Mass Effect DLC combined (save for Shadow Broker or Overlord...but it's better than either of those on it's own).

I should have posted this in the ME3 thread.

I had to laugh at the banner at the top of the page.

The only thing true on that banner is that the game is called Sim City.

Hell, it's almost guaranteed his replacement will be worse than him, for us I mean.
Pretty much this.

Don't forget that all the "5 million units/$500M sales per title" horseshit came from their shareholder demands, not Riccitiello. They get someone more "investor-friendly" in there, and the chances of them pulling even worse crap (like the "no used games" shit that everyone is worried about) is much more likely.

I liked Adam Sessler's take on this.

Hadn't seen X-Play in so long... wtf happened to his hair?!

Also not surprised to see another of the old TechTV crew land at Revision3. :)

I'm just glad to see Adam excited over SOMETHING. Those last few years of X-Play, you could tell he didn't care anymore.
He even alluded to that in the video. Something about the fiasco at G4, about how things these days reminded him about why he loves games, but also how some things also remind him why he thinks he would just go back to banking. Frankly, I never saw him as a banker, that makes me chuckle a bit.

He STILL doesn't know why he was fired from G4, but if you look on Youtube, you can find a video of the EXACT MOMENT when the suits came to fire him. It's the only time I've seen him break character on the show.
