What are you playing?

I got this last year's steam sale and I had the same reaction.

Also, Poe, don't know if you know it or not, but Monkey is voiced and mocapped by Andy Serkis
I knew I recognized that voice! Looks like a good game; too bad my PC is shit.

Speaking of shit, about ready to be done with Dark Souls 2. I'm at level 90 and I'm just not having fun. Whether I'm sweeping through somewhere with ease or struggling against overwhelming odds, I don't feel connected, and it makes neither side of events worthwhile. I never get into the mindset where I forget I'm playing a game. I don't know why, but the magic just isn't there. I'm still willing to try out Demon's Souls, but right now I could be having more fun with Dark Souls 1 or Bloodborne.

Well they just announced Dark Souls 3 and it's going to be the end of the "series", as it were. We're likely to see more games of the type from the devs but that STORY is done at least.

And I'm gonna get Dark Souls 3. I don't have a problem with them continuing the story; Dark Souls 2 made it clear which ending from the first game is considered canon. I want them to keep going.

I just don't know why I feel such disinterest towards Dark Souls 2.

Been playing LotR: War in the North. Not a bad hack/slash, and your AI companions are surprisingly smart most of the time. Combat feels a little slow, but it's still fun and I'm always looking for new LotR games to play that don't suck. I wish they'd port Third Age to PC. Sure it was a straight-up FFX rip-off in combat, but it was still worth a play.

I've had this for years and never really played it because someone or another would ask to do the group mode and then flake at the last minute.

LOTR: The Third Age had 2 great features that not enough games have. First, every single piece of equipment - and there are tons - looks different, so it's very easy to see what your character is equipped with at a given moment, even while travelling. Evil Mode was also great - playing through encounters in an area as the baddies, taking down the heroes, and winning gear for it.

Yeah for the most part War in the North does the equipment thing, but you don't really have to manage your AI companions as they just sort of magically find upgrades as you progress.

Just beat the Witcher 3. Fucking unbelievably incredible way to end a long running trilogy. The whole last 4 hours of the game is a near nonstop roller coaster and the journey to get there is worth every bit of effort.

Now I sleep.

Come watch my steam Evolve here. I've moved up to Rank #40

had to use this stupid upload because this forum won't let me properly link. That's the URL.

It's just an image of a URL.

Why don't you just do it as a normal text URL link, like you were linking to any other website? :p
tried, automatically just puts it in media brackets. I posted that picture of the URL. Don't be too lazy to type ;)

...I can't figure out any other way.

If you put a URL in code brackets, it won't get transformed.

Anyone curious about the ending I got in Witcher 3, shpoilerz:

Ciri lived and became a Witcher. Geralt and Yennifer lived happily together in the north (I know Yen is not the popular choice, especially with people who've played through the old Witcher games, but man, Triss is kind of gross in her manipulations and advantage taking...). Keira ended up with Lambert which is super gross because fuck both of them. Cerys rules Skellige nobley and excellently. Emhyr conquered the north but conceded Temeria back to Temerians as a self ruling vassal state. Let Radovid get shanked. Couldn't let Dijkstra kill my bros Thaler, Roche and Ves so he ended up cut in half. I think that's about it.

In mine Ciri lived too, but she became ruler of Nilfgaard. It was pretty sad too because she pulled it on Geralt just because she was to leave. I stuck with triss, and they became the happy couple, with Geralt taking jobs once in a while and trills being advisor to the king. Cerys also ruled Skellige in mine and Temeria and radovid had the same fate. It was a really good game. There's still a billion side quests I havent done (all those ? on the map), I think I'll still be running around for a while.

Yeah, I'm just gonna leave the game I think until they release the expansions. I pretty much did everything.

I never got the achievement for getting all the Gwent cards, despite to the best of my knowledge, getting all the Gwent cards.

So, I got a free Dr. Doom code last night for Marvel Heroes (it's 25 bucks ingame!!!!!). I decided to give the game a shot. I remember @Bowielee singing the game's praises back when. I should have gotten past my usual prejudices against ARPGs, it's pretty fun. Also, Doom's dialog is the best. Out of magic-power? Instead of some pedantic, "I am low on power" Doom exclaims something like, "NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR DOOM TO EXERT THUSLY!" or "DOOM WILL USE HIS POWER WHEN DOOM DEEMS FIT!". It makes me laugh every time. I've only played through the raft. Now I want to try out some of the other characters (they let you try any of them to level 10...except for Doom). I've only tried Ghost Rider and Winter Soldier so far, loved Ghost Rider, who's powers and dialog is awesome, Winter Soldier's dialog was kinda boring (voiced by David Hayter, NOT doing a Solid Snake voice) as were his powers.

The game's done a great job of capturing the feel of characters. Spidey quips, Deadpool breaks the 4th wall, etc. It's a fun little ARPG if you can find a couple characters you like to play.

Yeah, it's a good game that was tarnished by a rushed and HORRIBLE launch, particularly the way they originally handled unlocking heroes. When they started out, you had to grind and possibly get random hero drops every once in a great while. Since they instituted the shard system and built up some of the additional missions and stuff, it became a good ARPG.

FFXIV's Early Access xpac launch went unbelievably smooth today. No major downtime, no mess of errors, and the game's running great overall. Having fun with the new classes, haven't dug into the new story quests yet but I'm hoping to save those till I get one of the new classes to 50 first.
