Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Remastered

Looks like they're mostly upping the resolution on the graphics and character models. A coat of paint or polish over the original. And I'm okay with that. I hope there's some small quality of life upgrades as well, but I'm okay with it being largely the same as the originals.

As far as remasters go, I much prefer where it's little quality improvements like this rather than massive sweeping changes. It shouldn't be a brand new game like Resident Evil 2 and 3 or Final Fantasy VII. I feel like it should just be upping resolutions and adding quality of life changes.

On the one hand, it is just GTA: Modded Edition which doesn't seem worth buying these games again. Or at least not worth buying again on PC. Now the Switch port on the other hand...

I love both RE2make and FF7 remake, but I think those are far different than a remaster. D2R is a remaster, and it looks like this GTA is too. Remakes are different things entirely, meant to be entirely new games. Playing RE2make doesn't give you the same experience as the original, you can play both and enjoy both as different games. And for anyone playing ff7 remake I would highly recommend playing ff7 first since it's a stealth sequel

This looks actually not so bad.

I thought this was gonna be dumb as hell until I saw it in action and now I want to buy a switch for it

San Andreas is easily one of the best games ever made but I live in FL now and it's the state that I most identify with so Vice City has a special place in my heart

I mean, it kind of feels like Unknown Worlds has shot their wad, anyway. Truth be told they were always a middling-uninspiring dev house (I mean, did ANYBODY actually play Natural Selection 1/2, and if so, did they actually find it praiseworthy?) that just so happened to catch lightning in a bottle in the form of Subnautica 1, but Subnautica 2, while a decent offering, was still much less than its predecessor and kinda showed they don't know where to go from here, and were no longer willing to put in the extended development time to "get it right."

But don't cry because it's over, smile because we got to enjoy Subnautica.

Here's looking at you, kid. We'll always have Planet 4546B.

LOL speaking of Denuvo. It doesn't work right now. Apparently folks with Guardians of the Galaxy and the newest Tomb Raider and others can't play the games and haven't been able to for about half an hour. From the Steam thread on the Guardians community forum.

"Denuvo Domain codefusion.technology is mark for deleted and all domain records have been deleted. The domain name will be deleted any time soon.
Denuvo have screw up real this time.
All games that req denuvo activations or new denuvo token will not work.
for it can not find the activations server any longer. "

I would love to see a mandate that any DRM that requires some kind of external communication MUST have some kind of failsafe that allows for proper operation once the external servers go offline. Because they always will.
I feel the same way about "mandatory online" games, too (World of Warcraft, Fortnite, whatever). They either need a peer-to-peer/LAN option or else the server code needs to be placed in escrow for when the company running it either dies or else gets tired of hosting.

As the City of Heroes community has already proved, you only need one person on the inside (with server access) disgruntled enough with the company to make this happen. If you don't make your MMOs avaiible to the public after the servers go down, people WILL just build a server architecture to support the client and run the game themselves.

Warhammer Online experienced this too.

Little Kitty Big City looks so stinkin' adorable!

Okay, I need to play this.

There was a similar game called Home Free where you play a stray dog on the streets. There was a Kickstarter campaign for it, which I backed, but it's gone WAY past the original promised release date (back in 2016). There's still the odd update but it seems like the project is dead.

"Look, we've always had an adolescent fantasy of completely objectifying and controlling women. We came by it naturally and honestly, through years of insecurity born of toxic masculinity and sexual frustration, and it's so ingrained that it's part of our company culture. What's the big deal? Er, I mean... I don't remember attending that party."

So I guess Baldur's Gate 3 won't go much beyond level 10 and I feel like I'm in the vast majority that prefers that. Make the levels take longer so we can enjoy them more. Gasp, shock, D&D is it at it's best between 5-10 and always has been. That's when the mechanics are 100% at their best.

If you want to play a CR 40 demigod go play Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. The late game is a slog of 2000 buff spells, 2000 debuffs spells and summoning dozens of minions at a time in real time combat that is nearly impossible to control or turn based combat that even turned up to max speed is teeeeeeeeediously long.

Look at the toolbars of these characters in the late game boss fight, not really gonna spoiler that because he's introduced in the opening cut scene and is as close to a god as it gets in Pathfinder without being one so obviously he's an endgame threat.
