EA Needs to F*** off and die

Oh as I said in my previous posts in the What Are You Playing thread, I completely and totally love the entire Dead Space universe. From the books, to the spin off games to the 3 main titles. They each have their charms, but they're ALL solid solid games for their reasons.

1: Survival Horror
2: Psychological Horror
3: Action Horror

Considering each of those has been $5 or less in the past few STEAM sales (with the exception of Dead Space 3) it seems like a weak offering, but it's something.
Yeah, that's the main reason this one doesn't interest me. The games I'd be interested in have long been supercheap steamfodder. It really feels like EA is just saying "let's try to scrounge some goodwill by tossing out some games we're not making money on anyway."

That's entirely what it is, but it's still games for essentially free for a good cause. I really can't fault them for it.

DS2 had VASTLY improved m+k support. It's complete garbage in Dead Space. The 30 FPS default Vsync (that some people could not turn off) was atrocious.

Here's the beauty part of how fucking shitty the Dead Space port is, the better your hardware is, the more exacerbated the mouse input lag/acceleration (cannot be turned off) becomes. Even after a fix was released, the issues remained.

Ah, right, we're in agreement then. I misunderstood what you meant.

Yeah, DS1's controls were... disappointing. Still a great game though.

Yeah, what I meant was no one will want to buy Dead Space 2 after how atrocious the Dead Space 1 port is. Game is playable with a controller but if I wanted to play it with a controller (at 30 fps) I'd play it on a console. I like my shooters with my mouse.

Though, it's still not Saint's Row 2 bad.[DOUBLEPOST=1376540072,1376539950][/DOUBLEPOST]And on the topic of EA should fuck off and die, the Origin code input system is down, so I can't even install Dead Space 3.

THIS IS WHY PEOPLE LIKE STEAM EA.

The Origin client still has a message saying code redemption is down, but it worked for me. I picked up the bundle mainly for Sims 3 and Burnout.

EA, why did you take Plants vs. Zombies 2 to an in-app purchase model? And why are those IAPs all four bucks or higher? Seriously, the chili plant is $3 - on sale. And thank you for the constant pop-ups that remind me of your pathetic joke sales.

Fuck you hard, EA. you sucked a lot of life out of this one, and the greed is showing through in an overwhelming fashion.

You're completely overreacting. Every plant can be unlocked in the game and you don't have to purchase a thing. The IAPs are only shortcuts and cheats, and they are entirely optional.

Really? It was my understanding that there would be a number of first gen plants that could only be unlocked by paying for them.

Trying to install Sims 3 through Origin. Game downloads to 99%, pauses, and then jumps back to 60% :fu:
It's done it 4 times now. I've cancelled it, and restarted the computer. If it wasn't such a giant download I wouldn't care, but this is pissing me off.

Same shit is happening for me while I'm trying to download Dead Space 3. If I don't use my proxy, I get a download error. If I use my proxy, it downloads for a while, and I get a download error. EA's solution to get around the download errors? Use a proxy.

These #@($# idiots.

It's the best selling Humble Bundle yet, and it's only like 3 days in. I'm guessing this is in part due to the average still being under $5. I think it will be interesting to see what this sale does for the future of Humble Bundles.

It should not take me 3 days to download a game off of origin. I'm going to have to contact support, for all the good it will do me.

Why people would play a console port on anything other than a controller is beyond me.

It's sequel played fine with a mouse. It was just a terrible, lazy ass port done with as little effort on their part as possible. So, you're porting a game that's primarily a shooter to PC and you don't make sure your k+m aren't at least tolerable? Then don't fucking bother.[DOUBLEPOST=1376708605,1376708553][/DOUBLEPOST]
Um, no? Dead Space series is an action over the shoulder game. It's much much more solid of a game with a controller.

FPS? Totally agree with you. Action game? Not so much.
Oh come off it. There's very little platforming. The entire point of the game is to shoot limbs off monsters. It's a third person shooter most of the time.

I agree with @Frank. I have no problem using a controller with platformers that are ported to PC, but a shooter (first or third person) has no reason not to work great with a mouse and keyboard. Shrugging your shoulders and saying it was designed for consoles doesn't excuse it, because they chose to port it to PC. If you're going to port to PC, there are some basic things that should go into it, and those are mouse/keyboard support when reasonable, and a decent options menu to take advantage of the PC platform.

To recap:

Dead Space: Shitty shitty port.

Sleeping Dogs? Awesome port (even included high resolution textures to take advantage of beefier computers)

I didn't say -action platformer-

I'm guessing you think Gears of War and Halo are FPS/Mouse games as well?

I also have no idea where you're getting -shitty port- all the PC Dead Space games ran at 90+ frames and smoother than any console version.

Halo IS an FPS.

Please tell me you're not playing Sleeping Dogs with a mouse and keyboard.

I did both at one point or another, but the shooting in it is better with a mouse and keyboard and the driving and everything is better with a gamepad. The mouse and keyboard in Sleeping Dogs works fine though, another reason it's not considered a shitty port.[DOUBLEPOST=1376709885,1376709825][/DOUBLEPOST]
So is Dead Space.

Oh and @Bowielee you're absolutely right and I was completely wrong. I've never played Halo so I assumed.
YOU MAKE NO SENSE.
