Why not just have Adia look? :p

No, I agree, although none of us had the specifics for it. Now that you've posted them, we can figure it out at the time of needing to make a check rather than everyone jumping in to roll their 20s and pitiful modifiers.

If you guys are on the subject of how to find magic items:

Detect Magic (Trained Only)
Your knowledge of magic allows you to identify magical
effects and sense the presence of magic.

Sense the Presence of Magic: 1 minute.
? DC: DC 20 + one-half the level of a magic item,
power (conjuration or zone), ritual, or magical phenomenon
within range.
? Area of Detection: You can detect magic within
a number of squares equal to 5 + your level in
every direction, and you can ignore any sources of
magical energy you’re already aware of. Ignore all
barriers; you can detect magic through walls, doors,
and such.

Gusto is your divining rod.

In the case of the Bracers I believe that Adia is best choice for them.
Commander's Strike gives an ally of the warlord's choice a free basic attack. The bracers grant a bonus to melee basic attacks. Right now Adia has the most damage potential with her melee basic attacks (especially if she has Hunter's Quary on the target) so it's better tactics to let her have the bonus to hit.
If I may, the bracers only add a bonus to damage. The special abilities of the fighter are only generated through basic melee attacks, by increasing the damage dealt by their Combat Challenge and Combat Superiority attacks you increase their worth as a defender.

As to tactics of cooperation, may I suggest your warlord granting the extra attack to the fighter, so they can attack a seperate opponent and have two enemies marked each round? Or if you are down to a single monster, have the fighter go total defense and have the warlord grant him an extra attack so the defender is harder to hit and the target is marked. Also Aid Another is a melee attack so the fighter can mark a target with it while granting a striker the extra +2 to hit, works really well with a flanking ally.

Yeah!

ANYONE can see! But I can see magical properties of things through walls.

Saryon has a better perception check actually.

It would be good to list the top 2 rolls per skill, so that when we are limited in time and aren't separated, we have specific people to go to to maximize our chances to success. If the DM allows mass rolls, than that's another thing all together.

Looking forward to Thursday!

Don't forget cooperation, people. =P

My 2 highest are Bluff at +11 and Thievery at +9. Or 8. I'll check later. Arcana is +7.

Shawnacy's 4E D&D Game!

Trained:

Arcana +9
Diplomacy +7
Insight +6
Streetwise +8

I also have racial/background bonuses to Acrobatics, Intimidate, and Thievery, but those scores are nothing to write home about.

I think if I can everyone to upload their DDI builds, I could make a chart.

Uploaded, and saved yours.

If nothing else, this is a good way to learn how to work together by knowing each others' powers and such.

Yes, but Adia's sexier when she does it. And has more hit points to spare should something go wrong during the check. (And she's teh unofficial leader! Leave it to Adia! Yaaaay!) :D

Nothing goes badly during a Perception check. =P Only the actions afterwards!

Anywho, I vote Adia checks with our Assist rolls, and Saryon checks normally, just in case it's a "2 + 8 is still a 10" situation.

Hey all, was wondering if could ask a favor.

My main laptop is kaputz for right now, so I don't have access to Character Builder, my character sheet, macros, or anything.

Could one of you go to Serious Jay's file host thing up there, download my character builder file, open it, save the Character Sheet PDF, and PM it to me/post it here?

It would be greatly appreciated and would speed up our game tomorrow. Like, I don't, uhh.. think I can even play without it.

I'd get it myself, but the character builder is 2.53 GB, and I have a 3 GB limit each month, so you can see how this is an issue. :p

Shawnacy's 4E D&D Game!

I tried and it doesn't look like you can save the PDF itself...

I don't know that it IS a PDF, technically. I think that's just a print preview. :p

Then what the hell is this thing I found to download? :bush:

Well I guess I'll download the demo-- I'm retarded and forgot that existed. But then again, I can't get the update without an account, and I'm pretty sure there's a limit, which Dave already reached, so that might not work. Hmm..

Okay, I'm just retarded. What I found was the entirety of everything D&D and downloadable. The CB is in there for 75 megs. =P

Greetings folks.
I've been in Vegas for most of this week and as I assumed I didn't have much time to plan anything.
The game is still scheduled for tomorrow. We'll definately finish up the combat with the summoned super-croc and do some wrap up on that quest. There are still a few more surprises left in store before you even leave the dungeon.
As far as what comes next I'm going to be working out some ideas I brainstormed during the drive to and from Vegas. It should be enough to get an outline written and some details jotted down (encounters, treasure, xp, etc) tonight while I'm at work. We'll still shoot for a 4-5 hour session but if we end a little early I hope you guys don't mind.

Shawnacy's 4E D&D Game!

No, that's fine with me. Ending nearer to 11:00 EST is probably where I need to be.

Doomdragon: The demo builder's limit is to level 3. Faline and I are both using the demo, having no interest in shelling out for the full version. It works just fine.

*wipes powdered D&D dice from his nose* Whatever man, it's all good. :bush:

Surprises, huh? Well we didn't full explore that cave. Something hidden with the dead dragon? THE DEAD DRAGON ISN'T DEAD?? Well, if that dragon's alive, I don't see anything within a 3 mile radius living... The kobold we let live mentioned a dozen or so kobolds watching the ceremony. Unless they're dead somewhere, we haven't run into them yet.. Hmm.. the 2 girls could prove interesting somehow, beyond just an "escort them back"...

Lookin' forward to it, Shawn!

I really wish I could shapechange small creatures though. I'll never be able to fool Goblins or Kobolds. =P Or halflings for that matter! Bah. Either way, I'm looking forward to using that power in the future. :D

Escushion: I found the full thing for download. It's coo'. :slywink:

Shawnacy's 4E D&D Game!

I'm using the demo version, but Dave is... um... "helping me with the materials not included therein"?

Also, Doom, Shawn did mention 2 dozen or so kobolds, but I assumed that included the dozen or more who were noncombatants, and the four who sacrificed themselves to summon the Deathodile.

I think there were only 3 female kobolds + some younglings, right? Plus, weren't the corpses specified to be goblins? I distinctly remember goblins being said, but I assume kobolds do make more sense.

Oh wellz!

Shawnacy's 4E D&D Game!

i think the word goblins was used, but i took it to be a mistake. goblins and kobolds are pretty much interchangable lol.

Shawnacy's 4E D&D Game!

Well, our captive friend mentioned "the summoners." That could mean kobold summoners or something else in charge of the kobolds.

Speaking of in charge, Faline and I were discussing it the other day and are curious how the townspeople didn't know there was a nest of kobolds living under them for decades. The ruins could be undiscovered, sure, but the little pests had to have been noticed. Not to mention, the town guards were referred to as being not very aware. Two girls go missing along with some stranger and everyone in town is tense, but the guys on gate duty are relaxed? Something's fishy in this fishing village. It almost sounds like the girls were given up; maybe not to Zula's knowledge, but someone. There is more to this than meets the eye.

(PS, the four dead things around the summoning circles were very clearly stated as being goblins.)

Yeah I was thinking that too, but was gonna save any questioning until we got out of the Pit of Death where Unkillable Crocodile Demos Dwell.
