What are you playing?

Oblivion was the same for me. I've got like 200+ hours in the game, and there are still quests and areas I haven't gotten around to yet.

One of these days I will finish Shivering Isles. One of these days.

I started playing Trine 2: The Goblin Menace. At first I was thinking I might be over the Trine thing, it was taking so long to get some of the exp orbs.... Then I got the the Low Gravity Bubble arrows. Ooooh, fun.

Been playing Brutal Legend. I can understand why people were disappointed in it when it was released, seeing as the RTS aspects were barely mentioned, but going in knowing what type of game it is, I'm loving it.

Got rid of Ass Creed 3. Good riddance.

Re-picked up Shen Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked. I didn't really give it a fair shot before because I wanted a normal tactical RPG (and then Gungnir made me cry), but now I'm going in open-minded. I've allegedly got a 12-hour trip to and from New York in a little over a week and I know Atlus RPGs take some time to get started, so I figured I'd try to watch the prologue before being on the bus.

We've been handed 3DS's. The characters now have 3DS's. They're called COMPs, but they look like 3DS's. Whaaaaaaat.

I was playing Persona 3 FES a few months back. On one hand I loved it, on the other if you want to get all your stats and links maxed you have to follow FAQ itineraries to the Goddamn letter or you will miss out on things. It's a bit too demanding, which sucks 'cause I want to finish the game.

My recommendation is just to play it straight and not worry about maxing out the links. You can always do that on a New Game+ and so long as your team is balanced elements-wise and around level 75, you should be on even terms with the final boss.

That said, getting there is demanding. I don't even have FES, just the portable version, so even after the final boss, you have an ordeal on hand. I was satisfied just to finish the main game--it's a good story and a great RPG.

I keep trying to tell myself to do that, but I'm a horrible completionist about these kinds of things. Might give it another try, though.

Little Inferno

It's on sale on Steam as of this writing for $4, and it's definitely worth it. All you do is burn stuff, but there seems to be more to it than that.

It's just as addictive and fun as it is demented.

Got sucked back into WoW, not sure whether to keep playing the Monk or start Pandaland fresh on an alt, though. New dailies aren't as bad as I thought, and the solo scenario was a lot of fun.

Still working on Paper Mario: Sticker Star since I'm collecting EVERYTHING and also haven't had much time to play... and also Professor Layton <3 I've been doing all the daily puzzles rather than getting through the story. Oops!

Finished Dragon Age Origins with my evil bitch, now playing the DLCs, going to start with Awakening.
I really need to play awakening. But that means playing through Origins again, because fuck starting a new warden in awakenings.

...

Back to the deep roads.

I can't just pick up a long played character after ages of not playing him. It's awkward, it's like we're strangers.
I know this problem. I hate that I have this problem. I do it in any RPG I play, I can't just pick up from my last save if it's been more than a few months.

Machinarium

I've had this in my Steam library for quite a long while but never got around to finishing it. I did just now, but I think I see why it too so long: a lot of the puzzles aren't the "use object A on thing B," though the game has those, too. Many puzzles are more like "here's a bunch of lights; link them together in the pattern of a star."

I'm just not good at those kind of puzzles. It's why I didn't like Myst and didn't get far in games like The 7th Guest. I think they're fun and all. I'm just terrible that them without help.

So yeah, I beat the game but only with the help of FAQs and the sort. :(

Dead Space has been completed.

I read both novels, the comic series, watched the prequel anime and played Dead Space: Extraction before Dead Space so now I'm going to read the inbetween 1&2 novel, then play Dead Space: Ignition before starting on Dead Space 2.

I haven't loved a universe/series/media like this since I was a kid.

I liked Machinarium for the art and the music, but I was not impressed with the puzzles, or the game's interface. Puzzle solving became tedious for me at points because it can be very picky about where you click, and while I understand the reasoning behind forcing the player to move the character to be in range of performing an action, I don't think it actually results in more immersion, it just adds unnecessary extra clicks.

Also, some of the "logic" used in solving these puzzles is on the level of Sierra games. It's a damn good thing you can't get into an unwinnable state in Machinarium, because some of the stuff you end up doing makes no damn sense until you see it played out.

I picked up a 3DS XL and a copy of Harvest Moon: A New Beginning. (I also pre-ordered Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon). Fun game so far, although I do miss the 3x3 crop system.

If you have a Club Nintendo membership, don't register your 3DS XL until after March 21st. If you wait, and then register Luigi's Mansion before April 30, you can get a free downloadable game (choosing one from Super Mario 3D Land, StarFox 64 3D, Professor Layton and the Mask Something, Art Academy, and some crappy shovelware title).

If you don't do Club Nintendo, that's a good time to do it :p.

That was actually one of the reasons I went ahead and ordered it. The site says systems registered after Feb 14th are applicable.

Devil Survivor Overclocked: Enjoying this much more than before. I "get it" now and nearly got my ass handed to me for being ill-prepared. Gotta try to avoid that.

Kid Icarus: Uprising: I've been playing this game's single-player seldom because I didn't want to run out of game (due to loving it so much). Well, today I decided to see just how much there is to it... 25 chapters. I only just finished chapter 5 today after six months. Yeesh... I think I can let myself play more besides beating the crap out of people online.

Skyrim: On my most recent character, I finally stopped dallying around with the civil war and thieves guild and went up to High Hrothgar to do the whole training thing. When I came back down to Ivarstead, there were some shits calling me a fake. Got their bodies dumped in the river for their trouble, but I wasn't exactly expecting the game to nudge you with a story for the DLC. I just thought I'd have to go to Solstheim myself when I felt ready. Glad I don't have to break RP for it. I'll have to check the place out.

... once I finish stealing some stuff from Whiterun, where everyone hates me for justifiably killing a nobleman. So pissy.

Your going to see vampires attacking towns soon too, if you also have Dawnguard.

Seen a couple of those, and had a guy attempting to recruit me. The town attacks aren't bad since there are guards. What's been getting me are the highway vampires and their death dogs. I've already lost one horse to those assholes.

You need to be careful about letting the guards handle it. I've lost more than one quest NPC to these guys.

Still playing Pharaoh (the city builder), and started on my first play-through of SPAZ (Space Pirates And Zombies). On normal, I got killed 4 times in the first system. On casual, I'm overlevelled against everyone everywhere, because I'm a completionist.

....Eh, not restarting. Completionism leads to too much grinding if it takes too long to kill each and every enemy. Oh well. Fun game so far.
