*shrug* Point taken, though SWTOR is also 5 years old and has only become better running in the mean time. What graphics card should I get for a 5 year old Dell Inspirion?

I don't really remember why I didn't Kickstarter it, probably because I was annoyed with KS at the time.I kickstarted it but will finally play Divinity Age : EE.... I heard good things but never tried it more than 20 minutes as I waited until everything was done.
So many options, a bit of a loss on what 2 characters I want to make, guess I gotta do some build research
Well that's fucking fantastic and if you have a top end gaming rig I'm sure it really shows. I wasn't being sarcastic with my question though - I have no idea what upgrades I should look into.*shrug* Point taken, though SWTOR is also 5 years old and has only become better running in the mean time.
What I meant is that they've actually fixed some of the huge loading issues with the game in the meantime. I remember when it would take me 2-3 minutes to travel between planets only a year or two ago, but then they did the huge 3.0 conversion and suddenly everything started loading in like 20-30 seconds. I'm not ENTIRELY sure what changed this. I also wouldn't have said ANYTHING if I had realized you were on a laptop.Well that's fucking fantastic and if you have a top end gaming rig I'm sure it really shows. Assuming your motherboard can accept PCI-E 3.0 boards, the GTX 960 is a good choice.I'm not on a laptop. It's a Dell Inspiron desktop with an Intel Core i5.
Also I did have to turn all the textures way down because otherwise the KOTFE cutscenes kept crashing the game.
Okay, that's worth looking into.Assuming your motherboard can accept PCI-E 3.0 boards, the GTX 960 is a good choice.
Yeah, I finished up to Eternal... 3 weeks ago? Subbed for a month and ground it out for the DvL chests. Actually got something GOOD from those chests (one of the Jetpack mounts) so I'm happy about that. Right now I'm just maxing out my alliance levels and getting the Star Fortress companions. Already have everyone else.Okay, that's worth looking into.
So did you finish the Dark vs Light event already? I basically just need to complete chapters XIII-XVI of KOTFE, do Depths of Manaan again, and beat Lanos in the arena, and I'll have up to Eternal Level (which is really all I'm after).
You need a pretty strong companion to do the heroic modes (min 25, but 40+ is better). However, there are ways to make the Star Fortresses easier. You can get a buff from each of the 4 Odessan contacts (Military, Science, Force, Smuggling) from a console at the start of the Star Fortress if your Rep is high enough. If you have at least Rank 10 with them, each of them can unlock a special crate inside the Star Fortress that will give you temp powers (like a turret that tanks for you or a strong healing stim) that can make the fights a lot easier.Yeah I wasn't sure what the deal with the Star Fortresses are. They seem like something to do after you finish KOTFE.
I'm hoping the DvL companion is worth having.
This is what's listed under expansion slots: DIMM 240-pin, PCIe Half Mini Card, PCIe x1, PCIe x16Assuming your motherboard can accept PCI-E 3.0 boards, the GTX 960 is a good choice.
Now make Spaceball-1.
That was my fear. You basically need an all new motherboard at this point to even upgrade to anything you'd want. Sorry to hear it.This is what's listed under expansion slots: DIMM 240-pin, PCIe Half Mini Card, PCIe x1, PCIe x16
I guess after I get a new car I should save up for a new gaming rig, since they don't even really support an Inspiron 660 anymore.
Can you tell us what CPU-Z shows as your CPU and Mainboard -> Chipset? That'd give us all we need to know about how much more your system can take. I mean, Intel has been using the "Core i5" name since the middle of 2009, so that's really not enough info to go on any more. I mean, it's probably Sandy/Ivy bridge, but there's no guarantee.I'm not on a laptop. It's a Dell Inspiron desktop with an Intel Core i5.

That's what I'm expecting to see, yes.Inspiron 660 has a Sandy Bridge.
I hope you are stealing everything that isn't nailed down.Drudging around first city in Divinity Sin, ugh, and I mean drudge.
Hope this shit picks up.
But save first. >.>I hope you are stealing everything that isn't nailed down.
It's the WoW problem: Once you've level someone on both sides, there really isn't any reason to level anyone else unless you missed some zones. But SWTOR has it worse because you really only get one planet for a certain level range until you hit 50 and even then it's just "Oh, so I have some grindy options now too. Okay, I guess." At least WoW has dozens of zones so you could, conceivably, be able to run 4 or more characters through the leveling experience and not repeat a whole lot of content.I think I'll cancel my SWTOR subscription. It was the same MMO experience I always seem to have. 1. WHOA COOL. 2. Neat story 3. Gotta "finish" this one character 4. Getting boring 5. Okay new character. Oh right, this is mostly the same quests. 6. Cancel subscription.
Yeah, that is one of the worst things about Star Wars in general. You're dealing with a galaxy-spanning civilization with thousands of inhabited worlds (supposedly), and you visit, like, 20 of them, between all the classes. I mean, Tatooine and Hoth are supposed to be galactic backwaters, and yet you visit them multiple times for "vital reasons".It's the WoW problem: Once you've level someone on both sides, there really isn't any reason to level anyone else unless you missed some zones. Okay, that's fair enough. The Chiss Ascendancy one does get an explanation: because the Chiss were willing to negotiate an alliance right out of the gate and had things to offer the Empire that they would share freely, they were given very favorable terms... one of which is that Imperial Personnel don't step foot on Csilla without Ascendancy approval, under threat of death. The Chiss are also notoriously xenophobic and even into the New Republic basically keep to themselves. There really isn't any excuse to make it a zone when the Chiss would be willing to divert their entire fleet to carpet bomb anyone dumb enough to try to walk on Csilla.
