[TV] The What Animation Are You Watching Thread 2!: The Sequel!

Tonight on Powerpuff Girls, much like their predecessors show an ANNOYING level of inconsistent super strength, possibly more so. ALSO-Blossom is literally afraid of germs now, so much so that she needed to make an energy glove just to fight the trash bot.

On the one hand one could say its not as bad as Teen Titans Go, but on the other hand one could say its worse. Mostly because whereas TTG admits its a rebooted version, this series has yet to say if its a secondary universe or a continuation.
I mean, power fluctuation is common in just about any media dealing with super-powers, especially strength and speed. Flash gets neutered constantly because some writers basically turn him into pure Goes Fast, while others might change who's stronger than who in a contest of power.

True, it annoys me less than the other weak facets of the show since they KINDA implied they'll gain and lose powers as they grow older, but I still remember fresh in my mind when Buttercup lifted a FUCKING mountain, yet somehow gets caught up in a net. I'll assume it was laced with Antidote X because what the hell?

Adventure Time showed the Crystal Dimension, Regular Show showed Muscleman working for Initech, and Uncle Grandpa had the best fake troll award show EVER! Also they had every current CN character and had them voiced by their actual actors when they spoke. It was glorious.

The episode before the Crystal Dimension one... Thanks for the Crabapples? That might be my favorite episode ever, if only because of how ineffably weird it was.

The Wrinklegruff Girls -This one is kind of a mixed bag for me as far as Powerpuff ep goes. On the one hand, the premise of the PPGs being unpopular-ANYWHERE-in Townsville makes no sense. BUT...they were pretty funny as old ladies. BUT-like...almost every ep this season, they do not know how to end an episode, and by end an episode I mean Tom Kenny belting his GLORIOUS narrator voice at the end. Instead, CUT to credits. ALSO-Mojo has a mom he talks to on the phone, because FUCK us fans who loved his origin as Utonium's former assistant! I'm just going to pretend he's talking to a recording of himself, just like I pretend the dad painting was just something he stole and was crazy. To the show's credit, its more hit than miss, but the old show had a real CHARM to it, an identity, it knew how to end a friggin' episode. AND YET-I'm still watchin'. Doin' something right I guess.

Some entertaining fan theorization on exactly what the charges against Rick Sanchez are, and some interesting "blink and you'll miss it" bits that, well, I blinked and missed.

Spoilers galore if you haven't watched all of both seasons of Rick and Morty, obviously.

If that's the video i saw a while back, i disagree, the crimes he was wanted for seem to be related to his activities with Bird Person and their old crew... destroying universes seems more like sometihng the Council of Ricks or another multi-versal organisation like it would want him for.

Depends on what you mean by "a while back," as this video came out April 23rd (3 days ago). But yeah, it does focus on the "destroying universes" aspect... but what really interested me was the little things I missed before, like marking the form "N/A" under what universe Jerry comes from (indicating Rick doesn't know which universe he's in), and how the memories shown when his brain is scanned included lifting an infant Morty, when according to Beth, Rick left years before Morty was born and he only returned shortly before the start of the series.

For region 2, Steven Universe is getting a nice Season 1 package. For North America, we get another assorted handful of episodes on a disc.

Thanks, Cartoon Network. Don't work too hard on getting Adventure Time season 6 out either.

I think Cartoon Network simply realized that more and more people are just buying the episodes digitally for their tablets and phones in the US. Though I agree that it sucks, as it makes it harder to get all the promotional stuff you'd often see on DVDs, like commentary and the like.

Emphasis mine. I think you misspelled acquiring. It starts with a P.

On the topic of SU, who else can't wait for "In too Deep", the four week event of double episodes that should be just eight normal weeks of damn episodes but CN is still run by idiotic ratings hikers. Seriously-YOU KNOW ITS POPULAR-stop pulling crap like this!

Also...In too Deep? Really? I feel a certain H.Jon Benjamin character would have a comment about that.

FINAL NOTE-I just learned the H stood for Harry...why is THAT hyphenated abbreviated(loaded)? Did he think the name "Harry Benjamin" sounded dirty and/or was bullied for such a name? Did he know a billion Harrys but zero Jons? Someone tell me, I'm legit interested.

I hate the way they deliver, but damn, I can't wait for May. This must be what it's like to be a drug addict. *scratches* ;)

I'm not sure why Archer (<- I know, it's shorter to type), does it, but we actually write L'il Z's name the same way: H. [L'il Z] [Our last name]. I actually know a few people that do that. For us, it was because 1) originally, his name was going to be [Li'l Z] H. [Last Name], but it sounded better with the H. first, and we call him L'il Z anyway, and 2)Mr. Z likes names with the initial first (J. Jonah Jameson, L.Ron Hubbard, etc.). Not sure why H. Jon Benjamin does it, unless someone else in the actor's guild is named Harry Benjamin or he was named after someone in the family and goes by Jon to differentiate.

Another, slightly older Rick and Morty conjecture video that posits that we haven't been watching the same pair of Ricks and Morties every episode, and that the Assassin Krombopulous Michael is actually still alive in what we, the audience, would consider the main "universe."

Bob's Burgers has been kicking ASS this season, and tonight was my favorite kind of Louise ep, where her cynical almost adult nature battles with her inner girlyness.

It's that time again... STEVEN UNIVERSE for the next 4 weeks then another hiatus.

Super Watermelon Island
I'm honestly surprised that they handled the Malachite thing as an "off" episode. It was cute to see the Watermelon Stevens again and the action was pretty damn good... and hey, Lapis is alive. That's going to be an interesting episode later when she and Peridot have to deal with each other.

Gem Drill
Surprise, surprise... more Deus Ex Machina to keep Steven from actually confronting the problem head-on. I know it's the theme of the show and all but COME ON. Though I'm betting that the "In Too Deep" event ends with Jasper trying to forcefully fuse with the Cluster, forcing it's destruction. As much as I'd hate to say it, it's probably time to break Steven a little. Of the many lessons the show has put forward, I think it's time for "Bad things happen and there is nothing you can do about it" to be one of them.

I'll come back to this thread in four weeks.
You'll be missed.

After this Stevenbomb... I don't think we're getting a lot of summer premieres? Maybe some new Adventure Time and Regular Show... possibly an adultswim anime, but that's a different thread. Yeah, I think it's going to be quiet.

This kid. This goddamn kid.

Rocks could be falling from the sky and he'd make friends with them.

... Well, I guess that's what the show is about. But still. I'm really wondering when we're going to see the power of friendship hit a wall. It could be Jasper, but it might have to go all the way up to a diamond.

I'm confused if we're getting two episodes each week or if it was just to start off. I'm surprised that so much happened in these first two episodes. Makes me wonder for what we're going to see before the end of this run, considering the repeated lyric in the trailer for season 3.[DOUBLEPOST=1463110379,1463110331][/DOUBLEPOST]
So much for my tumblr dashboard. @Zero Esc is gonna fill it with SU dissertation reblogs. :p
You know, I tag 99% of my posts. You could just blacklist SU or steven universe and that would solve your problem.

I never said it was a problem, I just said you were gonna do that. [emoji56]

Might as well make the thread title "The Steven Universe Ghetto: Segregated because it's not a show that I personally watch".
I thought about calling it "The Steven Universe spoiler thread: it's a polite way to not spam another thread with spoiler boxes" but I thought that title was a bit too long. :)
