Coronavirus Thread

Another trillion from the fed to the banks. Not a trillion. ANOTHER trillion.

Can't afford M4A though.

If there isn't some actual, factual societal changes after this shit is over, there's literally no chance it will ever happen.

Narrator: "There wasn't."

By the way, anyone out there realize that COVID-19 shares a lot of symptoms with seasonal allergies?

The main difference is the red and watery eyes.

Ask me how I know. G'head, ask.

I have to keep assuring everyone, running nose and sneezing are not symptoms of coronavirus

Julie insists on one more trip to the grocery store ... Every outing risks exposure, but if I don't do it, she will, and she's just not as careful. :(

Major grocery store chain in Canada, just gave it's employees an immediate (temporary) 15% raise AND made it retroactive to March 8th.

Good news is good to share.

The governor addressed the state while I was sleeping. The general response on Twitter...

The Billy Madison meme is trending here.

Maybe it's confirmation bias talking, but I feel like the states with Democrat governors are taking this more seriously.

And we've just had our 1st death over here.

Come monday you'll need a written document to justify being outside after 10pm, and unnecessary travel is banned all day, and you can't travel in a group of 3 or more persons that aren't related/living together.

Probably better to do it now than later, IMO.
That's what I said on Friday when I went. We have enough food, these are creature comforts like mustard (for the sandwiches we can't make because the stores have no bread).

She relented when she saw Italy's death toll yesterday. Our area isn't a hotspot but our county had our state's first cases (one of whom spread it at the Republican meetup) so it's been here for over a month already. And our county had its first death yesterday.

I mean, the Democratic party never had an official stance of "this is just a hoax" so thats not surprising.

For a good comparison, remember when Kentucky actually elected a democratic governor last fall?

Just did my first groceries shop since it went down. Still super bare shelves and they told me I could only buy one gallon of water. My dogs drink distilled because one had a bladder stone for a bit. We might have to make daily trips for a few days to make sure she's stocked in case of a lockdown order or something.

I've seen plenty of assessments suggesting that "Republicans" be named an official risk group, since they (as a whole) stubbornly refuse to treat/take it seriously, and carelessly spread the virus while they grandstand.

EDIT: I'm being completely serious, here.
