What are you playing?

Been playing Game of Thrones RPG again.

Despite the crude interface, the storyline has been pretty damn excellent.

If you are trying to play borderlands and you just can't seem to get connected, here's what worked for me -

1) Host and players all exit to desktop. Yes, all of you, I don't know why but it doesn't seem to work sometimes otherwise.
2) Host and players start borderlands, click "play online game," login to gamespy.
3) Host starts a private game lobby, exits it without sending invites.
4) Host exits to main menu, starts single player game (by loading character's save), then hits "O" key to invite friends. Send invites.

Using that above exact sequence, I've been able to play while gamespy has apparently been taking a shit.

Wow ,that's funny man, I just reinstalled Borderlands and was playing it again last night. Man do I love that game, I forgot how well made it is.

Borderlands >>>>> Diablo.

Jay, Ash and I were trying to play last night, but couldn't get it to work. We will have to try this.
Yeah, Ash said something about it via steam pm. That's what led me to post this. Now if only my steam forum account wasn't stuck waiting for an admin to approve me, I'd post it in the thread I linked, too.

Thanks for being awesome :sohappy:

The downside is if anybody loses connection chances are they won't be able to get back in until you repeat the whole process. So long as Gamespy is gagging anyway.

I just grabbed Jade Empire because it's one of the only old Bioware games I never really played. Apparently it's install is 50% bigger than Just Cause 2. That....is kind of baffling,

Basically, The Answer is about the final fate of the main character of Persona 3. What happened to him wasn't exactly clear in the game and this story was about ending his and Aegis's stories. The events of The Answer (and Persona 3 FES in general) are also why Elizabeth isn't in Persona 4.
I honestly didn't feel it was unclear until I went online and read that it was supposed to be unclear. I thought...

He was just tired and fell asleep lying there on the roof with Aigis.

So the whole time skip thing in The Answer sounded tacked on when I read it. I think I'll just leave it in my head as-is.

Holy fucking shit. That game is racist in only a way upper class white liberals can be.

See, I always thought he had died and basically turned out to be right, in a round about way. The entire point of his contract with Nyx was that HE was assuming responsibility for everything that happened beyond that point, in exchange for the ability to alter/delay it. That he didn't know what he was getting into at the time is supposed to be tragic... but because the Main Character was never developed, they didn't show this very well.

I keep hoping that'll one day show up on a Steam sale. It's the biggest oldschool Bioware title I'vem issed, and seeing as I'm a huge KOTOR and NWN fights I assume I'll lvoe it...but I don't want to pay €19.99 for a 10 year old game.

It was just on a Steam sale. Might still be if you hurry to check.

So, what, this is the day-after-the-summer-sales-sale? Also, apparently -75% on €19.99 leave it at €3.74? (Actually, the base price was adjusted to €14.99 - finally some semblance of actual prices being equal between euro and dolalr? whoo).
Oh well, I'm a happy camper :)

I picked up Alan Wake during the steam sale, both to have it on PC (already owned the xbox version) and to get the DLC.

I'd forgotten how much I love this game. If you enjoy stephen king movies or twin peaks (or both!) then give this shit a try. I wouldn't call it a horror game, because while there are some scary moments, I've never really felt super scared, it's more like an action thriller with horror elements.

and bland action, horrible pacing, and repetitive enemies.

Until you get to the expansion :)

I fired up Arkham City.

GFWL remains, incontrovertibly, a piece of shit. Also, I didn't realize this game came with Securom too.

I've changed my mind about 2D Castlevania games. I started Symphony of the Night over from PSN and I'm actually into it this time. I also realize I have to earn buying the fun things, but only after I buy the things I actually need.

Just like real life!

You... BUY things in SotN? I personally find that you really only need to buy potions and library cards. Drops from enemies are much better than anything you can buy and if you know your way around, you can get some VERY powerful weapons early on.

You're supposed to buy something that unlocks something.

I was booting up a round of Dragon Age Origins again and...man, Simon Templeman (voice of Teyrn Loghain, Kain from Legacy of Kain/Soul Reavers, not nearly enough other things). If I could have a crush on someone's voice, it is his. Every time a character of his speaks, I am enthralled.

Man, Payday: The Heist... its gameplay is almost as punishing as its voice acting.
Been doing the No Mercy heist? That one is designed to have you fight massive hordes of cops unless you do everything just right. Basically, you need to...

- Get all the cameras in 7 seconds. You MUST use a silenced gun or the security guards hear you and press a panic button.
- Control the civilians and doctors so that THEY don't hit a panic button.
- Patch in Bain to find out which room the infected guy is in. I think he'll open the outer door as well.
- STAY AWAY from the Isolation Ward doors until your ready to open them. If you don't, security sees your gun through the windows on the door and sets off the alarms.

If you can't do all of that, you just get HAMMERED the entire time. But this is intentional: they wanted to make the assault waves feel like it does when you trigger the Horde in Left 4 Dead 2. It's also why Special SWAT show up way more often.
